- Soak before use:Before your first use, and before each subsequent use, soak the chasen in warm water for a minute or two to soften the bamboo and prevent it from becoming brittle.
- Rinse after use:Immediately after whisking, rinse the chasen under warm water, gently removing any matcha residue.
- Air dry:After rinsing, gently shake off any excess water and allow the chasen to air dry with the tines pointing downwards to prevent water from pooling in the handle.
- Store on a whisk stand:Use a chasen-tate (whisk stand) to hold the chasen in shape while it dries and to prevent it from warping.
- Avoid soap and harsh cleaning methods:Do not use soap or place the chasen in the dishwasher, as this can damage the bamboo.
